undefeated!

mmhmm... the valley christian girls team pulled through in the most intense and close match i have ever experienced against maranatha on tuesday. this is the team with the really good girl who pulls bagels off of everyone... however, i made a goal for myself to get a game off of her. well, i got TWO! yup yup... who would know that getting two games would be so exciting? it felt good.

anyway, back to the intensity of this match. for those of you that don't know how highschool tennis works, here is a quick explanation (for those who do know how this works, skip down to the next paragraph). there is a 1, 2, and 3 singles, and a 1, 2, and 3 doubles. each singles player will play each of the other team's singles player (so each will play a total of three sets... so, a total of 9 singles sets will be played by the singles players). the same goes for the doubles... a total of 9 sets. so, the team that wins the match is determined by which team wins the most sets out of 18. however, with 18 being an even number, it is possible to tie, 9-9. if that occurs, you then add up ALL the games (not sets...games make up a set) and whoever has the most games will win.

ok... so here we go. this match would determine if we were going to be undefeated league champs (we had already clinched the 'league champs' part... but we wanted the undefeated). maranatha's singles came out hard, but so did we. i won 2 and lost 1 (to that pro girl:) . i was done pretty fast, so i was heavily involved in the watching of the other sets and keeping score. our #1 doubles lost their first set (they had been undefeated up until that point), so that kind of caused a little bit of worry. as the match progressed, we found ourselves behind maranatha. our #3 singles player was down 1-5, and at this point, maranatha already had 8 sets, meaning that they only need two more sets to win the match, or one to make it a tie and go to games. we had 6 sets, so there were 4 sets left... 3 doubles and the singles match that we were down in. we had to win all of them to win the match.

our singles girl pulled it off and came back to win... it was incredible!! ok... so three left. two of the doubles sets went fast... we won them pretty easily. now, down to one set. the match score at this point was 9-8, with us having 9. in this last set, were down 1-3, then 2-4. at this point, everyone is watching and incredibly nervous. i don't think i have ever been put through such a nerve-wrecking match by just watching. we hadn't started counting games yet, but we figured that who ever won this set, would win the match... if we tied and went to games, we thought that maranatha would have more games.

it was then 4-5, and we counted games. the game count (not including the set happening right then) was 70-70... yup, the game score was tied, so whoever won the set would win the match (because they would have two more games than us if they won 6-4... making it 74-76).

there were some long rallies, and i think i held my breath throughout the majority of the match, not wanting to breath and disturb the path of the tennis ball in the midst of its rally. it was then 6-6 and went to a tie breaker.... A TIE BREAKER!!! the entire match has come down to a tie breaker! can it get any closer?!?!? my heart was going... it was so crazy, i can't find words to describe the feelings that everyone was going through.

well, you know the outcome.... we won the tie-breaker and won the match, 10-8. golly! it was so close! i don't think there was any better way to win the undefeated-champ title. go girl's tennis!

7 down, one to go!

Well, the Valley Christian Girl's Tennis Team is still undefeated as of yesterday! We are now 7-0 in league and stand in first place. We have our last league match on this coming tuesday against Maranatha (who i believe are 6-1... having their only loss to us). The team has been doing well, and we are going for a clean record of 8-0. We will be going on to CIF as a team, so that is going to be awesome.

Also, a few days ago, i beat two of the three girls that i lost to in the first round of league matches. I am now 18-3 and hopefully in second place (the first place girl is crazy good... crazy good. She is on the maranatha team). So, i am hoping to finish out the season at 20-4... or maybe i can try getting this maranatha girl and be 21-3... haha, we will see on tuesday. But anyway, i am hoping for a good draw in league finals (where the top 8 singles and the top 8 doubles compete). Only the remaining two players from each doubles and singles go on to CIF... so it basically goes up to semifinals. If i can get seeded at number two, then i would be opposite the maranatha girl and wouldn't have to worry about playing her.

wow, lots of tennis stuf, eh? well, it's all super exciting, and it's only going to get more exciting!
i have to go now though... wilderness challenge trip this weekend at north of zuma beach in malibu...

keepin' it going!

well, as of thursday's match against connoly, our tennis team is still undefeated in league! we are 5-0 in league, and its going great... everyone is doing awesome! i am going to have to take some pictures soon, that way i can post them on the site.

well, today's the day i have my first "video gig." haha, i don't know what else to call it. I am video taping a wedding this afternoon, and i am getting payed to do it... so it's exciting. i got the gig through a recommendation, so i hope everything turns out okay. it didn't hit me until a few days ago that this is huge... you know, a wedding... it's an important thing. i can't make any stupid errors. could you just imagine me forgetting to press record... ya, that wouldn't go over too well: "well, um, can we do that again... i forgot to press record, and..."

but, ya, i have to find something nice to wear to the wedding... we all know that i don't own a dress (well, i do have my dress from winter formal, but that's not exactly wedding attire). i have a skirt, and i have worn it to every wedding that i have been to in the past few years (which is only a few, but it has been my designated outfit for weddings... so maybe i will just go with that).

yup yup, well, i gotta go

been a long time

well, i just noticed (thanks to a friendly hint) that i have not posted in a long time... since september 26th to be exact. A lot has happened since then, so i shall fill you in with a few stories and pictures.

well first of all, lets see... I went to joshua tree last weekend for a thing called desert tabernacle... along with a few fellow church members, i did a 24 hour fast from noon friday to noon saturday. The time in Joshua Tree was amazing. We did a few hikes and did some devotions... I just love it out there. here are some pics:

so those are some pics from joshua tree... the first one is of the sunrise on saturday morning, and the last one is part of the view i saw from a spot i sat at during my quiet time. it was amazing to see all of that in front of me... i was pretty high up.

now, for the next bit... this is probably going to be my favorite part of the blog. I am going to announce some great news... our girl's tennis team at VCHS is currently UNDEFEATED in league!!! yup, 4-0. there are 4 other teams in our league besides us, and we play each team once. on thursday, we were 3-0 and were playing against the only other team in our league that was undefeated, 3-0. so, whoever won that match, would make a statement and take over as 1st in league. so, we played against maranatha on thursday. it was a great match, and was a lot closer than the score shows (14-4). eveyrone played incredible and we pulled out the win! so yup, thats some great news... the team is doing awesome!

yesterday was a fun filled day... it was very long, though. i went for a bike ride to the beach in the morning with a friend of mine. i havent done that in so long, so i was glad i got to. i went to rei and hung out there for a while, walked around, checked out the clearance. then later i played some tennis with some teamates. after, i picked mieke and we went to the batting cages. i know, random, but it was a lot of fun. i brought the camera along and we had a lot of fun... there were no people in our section, so we messed around a bit. here are some pics:
we had a blast at the cages. mieke stuck to the slow pitch (softball) and i started there, but the softball fast pitch on cage over was calling my name. that was fun... i actually hit some decent shots of the fast pitch. mieke did some switch hitting, shes pretty good at that. the helmets were awewsome. they have holes in the back of them so that you can put your pony tail through it. they think of everything these days. so ya, we climbed around, mieke took a peek in the hole that all the balls roll into, and we took a picture of ourslelves right in front of the machine. it was not on, of course. we are not that crazy.
after, we went to chipotle... now that place has good food. i love their rice and guacamole. its so good. then we rented the movie robots (which is rather funny) and i fell asleep. by that time, jenny had joined us at my house. by the way, i had done all the driving yesterday with no adult in the car... my 6 months was up on thursday, and i can finaly drive my friends around. dont worry, i am very responsible about it :) but it was really nice to be able to just do something spontaneously (like going to the batting cages) without needing a parental unit to drive us and pick us up.
well, i am off to the gym and to play tennis!

computers are weird

well, i just noticed that my computer that was messing up a week ago and not letting me post randomly posted all the posts i tried posting. it's quite funny, as beth pointed out, that you can see my frustrating growing and my patience leaving. anyway...

big match tomorrow against connelly... in the past, our team has not been able to get a single game against this girl named lindsay kinsler. you know what, this year, i am fired up, pumped up, and ready. i am gonna come out tomorrow swinging and on fire. i want my game off this girl, and i sure hope that i can get it. Isn't it great how one game can mean so much :) i got as close as ad-in against her last year, but this year, hopefully i will get the full game.

well, i am off to do homework.. i wanna get it done so i can sleep and prepare!

fore!

is that how you spell it? you know, when you are golfing and you completely shank it and want to warn somebody that the ball is coming their way, you are supposed to yell "fore!" well, i dont know how to spell, but i sure know how to say it. I went golfing with jenny yesterday at Los Coyotes country club. it was so much fun. I had never played a hole of golf before...only the driving range. I stepped up to the first hole, and prepared to tee off. I was in some funky "golf get-up" that i just loved and was very excited about teeing off. so, i swung and... slice! it was a hard hit, it went high, and it went to the left... hitting a tree and not coming down... haha, it was a great way to start the day. the rest of the day was fairly similar, except there wer times where i just couldn't hit the ball, or i kept on hitting the top of it and it would just pop up 3 feet to the right and in front of me. it was great. My favorite shot of the day: 2nd hole had a lake, and i tee off. I completely slice it (again) but it goes to the right of the lake, hits the bridge that you drive the carts over to get to the hole, and lands on the grass. it was hilarious... i said that i did it on purpose, you know, going across the bridge. its a much safer shot. anyway, the ball landed about 5 feet from the water, and i pull out the pitching wedge (with jenn'y advice) thinking i am gonna hit it on the green. golly, i was wrong. once again, i hit the top of the ball, and lands right in front of me in the lake... now thats sad... seeing your ball land in the water only a few feet in front of you. thats okay though, cause i my next tee off went great.
i will post some pics up... too bad i cant figure out how to do video yet, cause i recorded a few shots. anyway, enjoy the pics.
thats our victory shot at the 9th hole... yay!

3rd is the charm

okay, for some stupid reason, my posts will not post... i just get errors. i spent 20 minutes typing my first attempt. then, not wanting to retype it, i listed things in my second... now, my list will be even shorter and less descriptive... soory

-weather=awesome

-lightning and thunder=makes me happy

-bummed=match cancelled due to rain

-car=filthy=me mad cause rain soiled, not cleaned, my car

-washed my car

-no homework cause i did it in class (when teacher gave time, and in my TA)

-did i mention i am a TA for a PE class... TA=fun

-gonna sleep --> rest up for tomorrow's match.

i want to punch my computer

i just spent 20 minutes typing up my blog, and then there was an error so it wouldn't post... i will summarize because i do not want to retype it all...

-weather=crazy, but i love the thunder and lightning... love it! especially the deep vibrating i feel in my chest from the super loud thunder... and i love the crazzy looking lightning!

-bummed out about match cancellation... only downside to rainy weather.

-car was soiled, not cleaned, by the rain... filthy, absolutely filthy... i couldnt see through my windsheild... my car looked like i had gone off-roading.

-so, i washed my car :)

-had no homework cause i got it all done when teacher gave us time in class... and with my free time in my TA period i got my history done. (did i mention i am TA-ing with a PE class? well i am).

-tired, gonna sleep and rest up for match tomorrow

hooroo!

busy NOT doing homework

isn't this weather crazy!?!? it is so awesome though... i mean the actual weather part. i love the lightning and thunder. they are incredible things to experience. i love the flashing of the bolts and the deep vibrating you can throughout your body. it's just great. plus, i love the fact that today, i got by with a tshirt, shorts, and flip flops without being cold or anything... well, i did get wet... quite wet. only in california can you wear that kind of outfit and survive in a random rain down pour. however, i did not enjoy the fact that tennis was cancelled... thats the only downside to rain... no tennis. thats okay though, we have a match tomorrow.

also, when i got to my car after school, i nearly had a heart attack... my car, instead of being cleaned by the rain, was soiled... it was filthy.... filthy!!! i had parked under a tree, so all the dirt came down with the drops that fell from the tree. i am not exaggerating... it looked like i had gone off-roading. when i got in my car, i couldn't see through the windsheild, so i spent a minute with the wipers going and the water squirting... grody. anyway, i came home and washed my car... i didnt mind that one bit!

tonight was my first night without homework, and let me tell you this: it was wonderful. when the teacher gave us time in class to do work, i did it... and i finished it. it was nice to come home and not have to worry about school work.

well, i am off to bed. i want to get some sleep for my match tomorrow!

can we say, "wow"

well, today was a day of cleaning... bedroom cleaning. now, i must say, my room was in terrible, bad, ugly condition. so, it was time. my mum even helped me. it was a task that seemed impossible and tiring. tiring it was, impossible it wasn't. now, you may think i am exaggerating a bit at how messy my room was. because i knew that my words would seem a little hard to believe, i decided to take before and after pictures. i am a little embarassed to show the mess of my living quarters (is that how you spell it?), but hey, it only makes my room now look cleaner and better. so please, if messy rooms make you sick or disturb you in any way, look away and do not read any further.

well, you can figure out the before and after for yourself... enjoy!!

so, what do ya think? cleans up pretty nice, eh? well, i am gonna put two more pics up... they are both things i am proud of...one is off my picture fram collage (which i did in the middle of this summer, and the other is of when i broke 6 strings at once while playing tennis (that felt good!)

Tuesday, September 13

simple math: school + homework + tennis matches = less time for posting

so, how do you like that... i can add!

ya, school is busy busy busy busy. lots of homework, lots of stuff. luckily tennis after school allows me to forget the stresses of school. today, after practice, i forgot i was in school... it felt like a summer practice where i could go home with no school-worries or homework. sadly, my bubble was burst... pop!

tennis tomorrow... i am excited. there is gonna be really tough competition. speaking of tennis... go kim clijsters! she won the US Open on saturday, along with 2.2 million dollars, the biggest payday in the history of womens sports!!! it was her first grand slam and well deserved. kudos kim!

pomegranite... hmmm, how is that spelled

well, i am off to bed... gotta rest

Friday, September 9

and so it begins....

yup yup, school has finally begun...began...whatever. maybe i will learn the correct word in AP english this year. school is already busy with homework and quizes. not many teachers believ in easing us in. they are basically asking us to run 10 miles without having run in a few months...ok, maybe i am exaggerating. but seriously, it's hard to get your brain going the way it was a few months ago.

tennis is going great... i had long long sets today. i won't get into the details, but i will say they were long... and i know i am probably be sore tomorrow. but it will be a good sore. i won two of my three sets with the one i lost going to a tiebreaker, then i lost 8-10. all in all, it was fun. i look forward to my next match, but i really need to work on my strokes.

well, i am tired, so i am off...

Tuesday, September 6

twas the night before school starts...

yup yup, that's right! school starts tomorrow and i am not prepared in mental form. my brain is not ready for school and school work. i am still in the "eat, drink, play tennis, sleep" mind set. i am so adapted to it, i think i might go into shock once it changes!

ok, so i may be exaggerating (sp?) this a bit and being a little too dramatic... but hey, i can do that. however, i will stop now cause it is just pointless to go any further.

so i had my first school tennis match today! ok, lets see... good news: i won all three of my sets :)
news that's not so good: i need a lot of practice... it's a totally different game than what i am used to... i am used to the harder hitting, the chasing down balls and what-not. it's hard to create your own pace... however, it is something i am gonna work on, and i look forward to working on it... and my serve as well... boy, my serve fell apart today... but hey, i can work on it!

well, i better prepare for school... fun fun fun.
i like preparing, but i can go without actually starting. mmhmm

the effects of boredom

Once upon a time there was a wave. The name of the wave was, no surprise, Dave. Dave the wave. Dave was a big powerful wave. His massive blue body surged across the surface of the ocean with great majesty and deceptive speed. Oh yes, Dave was quite a wave. From the moment he rose up from the ocean he felt special. He felt invincible. Ferocious storms battered him with wind and rain, great ships sliced through his very heart, and yet he rolled on. It was not for him to stop and consider the other waves. To stop was to die. Waves have to keep moving… or else.

But then one day Dave saw a strange darkness on the horizon and, for the first time in his life, felt fear. What could it be? Was it connected to the laughing creature sliding across his face on a piece of wood? But before he could make sense of it all, he crashed down into the darkness. For a brief moment, he felt a weird, splashing feeling, then oblivion. Dave was no more. He was now part of the sea. And as we all know, the sea lives to make waves.

i'm divin' in

well, after seeing a pic that tennis player tatiana golovin took, i became inspired and wanted to do similar pics... well, here ya go. at my aunt and uncles house, i took a plunge in the pool along with my racket and tennis ball and came up with these pics... thanks to my pop for taking these pics!

it was a lotta fun. here's a pic of me and my cuz under water...

yup yup... fun stuff!

pics from yesterday

well, here are some jumping pics from yesterday... it's a little bit of foreshadowing for the kind of pictures i took underwater. golly, there is always a racket in my hand :)
a lot of fun with these pics... lots of fun. thanks to my mum for taking them.

long time no post...

its been a while since i posted... actually, not really. there's just been some fun things that have been going on that i haven't posted of yet. so post i shall!

well, lets see. on monday i went on a short hike... i am totally blanking on the location. that's bad though, cause i drove. speaking of me driving, it was my first time on windy roads (whoa, i just realized that "windy" could be pronounced in two different ways and mean different things... so i will spell it out phoenetically... wine-dee). yup, i was a little nervous, but the great part was that there was only one car behind me that i had to pull over for on the way up and one on the way down... that way i could take my time and not worry about other drivers being mad at my leisurely pace.

so the hike was about 5 miles round trip. the view was pretty from the top... here's a pic -->

then tennis was great as usual through out the week.not much new going on as far as tennis goes, but i will keep you all updated.

today i went to see my younger cousins and my aunt 'n uncle. it was a LOT of fun. they have a pool so i got to swim with mu cuz and mess around (she's 4 years old). i also brought my underwater camera and tooka few pics (its a film camera, so i will post those pics later). the theme of these pics is a lot of fun... you shall see soon :) then i played with barbies with my cuz and had fun doing kid stuff. then she showed me how she got ready for bed. she is so cute... she has a whole routie and everything.

i will post more pictures from today tomorrow after i get a chance to crop them a bit. i have to say, having this new digital camera has been a lot of fun and has come in handy... i've already used it a ton!

well, i am tired... gonna go sleep now.

awrtivnd hghlahu asgdklhgqwoqwoie

yup, that about explains my emotion right now. i just got done watching one of andy's most painfully bad matches ever (andy roddick). this was his first round match at the US Open against muller. sadfhj jwuup. yup, i am still really upset. he lost in three sets... three tie breakers. i was begging the tv to show me andy getting pumped up and turning the match around... seriously, i was begging on my knees in front of the tv. it's a good thing nobody was home, cause they would have been freaked out by the wreck i was becoming. i was jumping around on the couch, talking gibberish, on my knees two feet from the tv... yup, a complete wreck. when it was the third set tie breaker, i didnt know what was going on... this was andy roddick, and this was the first round... what is this?

then i started laughing really hard when the tie breaker was in favor of muller 5-1... i made an excuse for this terrible match that i saw on the tv screen: it was a fake tape that was fabricated to show andy losing terribly. i knew that at any point, a big "Haha, gotcha!" would flash up on the screen and reveal the true score in favor of andy. then i noticed i was insane.

as soon as andy lost, i think i screamed, but i am not sure. if i did, i am surprised that the cops didn't show up saying he got a few calls from concerned (and annoyed) neighbors. then i started to cry. yup, i cried. then i did somersaults... i don't know why, but i am guessing it was a form of calming down and releasing some stress... and some temporary insanity.

now, i sit here, semi-calm, writing this true account. yes, all of this did occur, and it is all in respons to andy's loss. andy truly did lose his mojo. stupid mojo.

must go.

bye

more?

last night was spent in a korean/japanese resturaunt... you know, one of those places where there's a grill in the middle of your table and you put your meat and what-not on there and cook it yourself. so let me just explain a little bit of how much food there was.

to start off, let me say this: i have never seen so much food on one table at one meal at one time... ever. first we started with a salad (a huge and yummy one). then same soup, followed by the little dishes... there were tons of little dishes with awesome korean food. i would say about 20-25 of those little dishes alone. then, with the dishes came the rice. of course, i start eating the rice with all the little stuff, and then comes meat. the meat was incredible... i just loved it. i was near my limit with how much i could eat... i was getting really full. but wait, what's that? another serving of beef? ok, maybe a little more. another serving? ok, we'll see if i can eat a little more. just as i finish eating a little more beef, the waitress comes with a huge plateful of a different kind of meat to cook. i was SO full, but the food kept coming. after we cooked two or three servings of the new meat, out came the chicken. in the picture below, you can see one of the first servings of meat of the night on he grill... this is early on, not even halfway through. you can also see how incredibly full i am by the look on my face. i was struggling to find ways to make more room for food. by the time the chicken came out, i had already unbottoned my pants AND unzipped... if i went any further, i wouldn't be wearing pants anymore. so i figured this: "okay, the chicken is the last thing, i can take a few bites, right?" i did, but then, i discovered something new... and i should have know... there were still noodles to come... more food! now, before we went any furhter, i made sure there was no more food coming. after finding out it was finished, i slouched low in the booth and just sat there with my hands on my tummy... it was over. the food was awesome, don't get me wrong, but i just ate so much of it. i think the next time i go there, i will have to fast for a few days ahead of time. i know my brother would love this place, so when he comes back from japan, i am taking him there. there is so much food, and the amazing thing is that this is a normal meal in the korean culture. man, they know how to eat!

initiation

there's nothing like waking up at 6 in the morning to go play tennis... no, seriously, there's nothing like it. i just love waking up early and starting the day off with tennis. after 3 sets of doubles and good tennis, i know my day will go well :)

it was a lot of fun, and i would like to add that the colors of the day were green and yellow.... the two colors i wore and no one else did. yes, i got hit... multiple times. once nearly in the face (but my wrist luckily blocked it), another in the leg, and the last right above my stomach. they called it initiation... i called it torture... haha, just kidding, it wasn't torture. it was actually quite hilarious. i had a lot of fun with it. i definately have improved a lot since the last time i played with this group (very close to a year ago). i'd like to say i held my own and did okay :)

well, i am off to go see the brand new REI in huntington beach... it just opened yesterday. it's supposed toi be just as big as the mannhattan beach one... we'll see.

oh, and check out the new purchase... i've been saving up :) by the way, the purchase is the camera. came straight from europe...bought it off of some friends that were just there. sweet, eh?

well, i am off... preparing for an exciting day... a brand new rei and a dividend to use!

semi-sedated

i had an appointment today to see how soon i needed my wisdom teeth pulled. i also got to learn how the whole procedure goes, what complications can arise, and, oh ya, the best and most important part: my options i have for being pain free during the procedure. yup, that's right... i have a choice of how i want to go through the operation. here are the options:

1. i can be absolutely aware and awake, yet not feel any pain (after 8 injections that will numb me) through the procedure. yet of course, i will still here the cutting, pulling, breaking, and metal tools while feeling the pressure (not pain) against me mouth and the pulling sensation. although no pain is felt, a lot of anxiety can occur.

2. i can be absolutely out, unconscious, and unaware of anything. the only thing i will be doing is breathing and pumping my heart... everything else stops. yup. i would be in a deep sleep, the doctor's pull the teeth and so on, and then i wake up about an hour later feeling like i never went to sleep. this is the most common choice and least stressful.

3. or i can do what is called "twilight" sedation (i think i may go through this one). this is, in a way, considered to be semi-sedation. now, this actually seems kind of humorous, and you will see why i would want to film my procedure under this choice of pain-freeness. in "twilight" i will not be completely out and sleeping away... i will still be able to react to a stimulant like someone telling me to do something. i will not feel any pain except for when i am first injected with numbing stuff which, according to what my doc says, i will forget was ever done 5 seconds later. i will be awake and semi-aware, but will not remember a single thing after it all wears off. i would kind of be like 10-sec-tom where i forget what is happening every 10 secs. people tend to get a little loopy under this option, but that is what makes it appealing.

so, those are my options. my personal opinion is option 3. what do all you have to say?

by the way, one of the possible (but of course, "not likely") complications is that they bruise a nerve in my lower jaw and my chin and lower lip goes numb for anywhere from a week to a few months. fun... numb jaw. haha

anywho, that is my story for the day.

i am officially "in"

well, i am now a part of the verizon "in" network. yup, i got a cell phone today. Mr. Fedex delivered it today after i got back from tennis. fun stuff... mmhmm.

tennis is going great... but then again, how could it not? it's tennis, and tennis is always great :)

not much to write to night. i didn't do too much today. i did buy two cds today though (itunes). i got phil joel's first album "watching over you" (he is the bassist for newsboys) and i also got matthew west's first album "happy". they are both great cds. my music collection is expanding, but newsboys is still my top pick :)

well, enjoy the rest of the summer

tenez!

thats' the word that "tennis" came from... anyway, thats what i have been doing a lot of. tryouts are twice a day, and today, i took a lesson in between the two sessions... actually, i have a lot of time before my next session this afternoon. no, i am not sick of all this tennis, i am enjoying it thoroughly. :)

change subject: one of my favorite things to do is look at the peculiar postings on msn news. there is some funny stuff there... for instance: a nun is reprimanded for wild dancing with a missionary, teacher is fired for forcing his students to eat with their hands, soccer team loses 1 to 50 because goalie goes to concert, and other stuff like that. however, i come across some cool stuff by clicking around. most of you may know that i love the commercial with the guy putting picture frames over his head and taking them off (the song "picture book" is in the background). it's the hp commercial. anyway, i came across a cool article about the commercial today. here's the link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8564390/

at the very end, it says that the commercial is "tivo proof." i can support that and say that it definately is tivo proof. i stop everytime i see that commercial is on and watch it, at least twice.

anyway, i am gonna go relax now... wanna be fresh for tennis :)

back to bellflower... again

well, i've been back home for a little under 24 hours. we got back yesterday afternoon from mammoth after eating a humungous (i can't spell that word... and i already know somebody *points to beth* will make fun of me for it) breakfast. it was soooo good. yup, it deserved three extra o's in the "so". anyway, i was very sad to leave. i always am when it comes to leaving beautiful mountains, skies, and weather to come back to smoggy LA where the skies can hardly be called blue and the "mountains" are never seen. i know it sounds like i don't like living here, but don't get me wrong, it's all good... but the mountains are better.

anywho, i had tennis tryouts this morning. all is going well. we've got some good new girls coming out, so it's exciting. i've got another session this afternoon... looking forward to it... yup yup, i am.

well, i gotta go... actually i don't, but oh well. i have nothing else to write.

my illegal act for the week

well, i am sitting in the car right now near someone's house who has an unsecured wireless network... in english terms, i am getting wireless internet for free.

well, can't talk long. today, we just went shopping on main street and then went and drove up past the mammoth lodge to go to this one place where you can see a great view of the minarets. i can't believe we are leaving tomorrow. i am really gonna miss this place. i just love mammoth. i would love to come spend a summer up here, get a part time job, and become a local. wouldn't that be great?

yup yup, well, that's all for now. i've been playing and watching LOTS of tennis. roddick vs hewitt... go roddick! thats tonight. well, tata, see you all (beth) when i get back... my family teases me about my lack of audience... so spread the word, please. the only people that check this are either here on the trip, or are named beth.

anyway, buh bye

Friday, August 19

wow, its already friday

lets see... i will begin with what went on yesterday, then i will get to today. i will keep it short though and just mainly put pictures up. just a few stories first, though.

so yesterday was a lot of fun. the day was spent at gull lake. this lake is probably my favorite lake to go to. its close by, not too big, and, best of all, they always have a kayak to rent. so jenny and i rented a kayak for a few hours and had a ton of fun just kayaking around. let me tell you, we are becoming pros at kayaking. however, we tried something new a few times yesterday. this kayak also has pedals that you can use and a rudder to steer with if you want to. so jenny, sitting in the back, put the rudder down in the water and we pedaled a bit while she steered. pedaling a kayak is a great workout. my legs and bottom were burning with such a workout. jenny made fun of me cause i was going crazy. anyway, so we decided to go back to paddling. i was paddling on my own a bit, but i found that i was working extra hard to go straight. after about 5-10 minutes of paddling on my own, i hear jenny say from behind... "oh, i forgot to put the rudder up." it was hilarious.. the rudder was turned to make us go right. i couldn't stop laughing... it was great.

all this time, my family was in a little motorboat fishing. my mum caught her first fish. she was very happy. however, they had the boat till 7 pm. we were out of the kayak at 3:20. we had no money, no keys to get in the car to get money... no food, nothing. so we waited almost 2 hours doing nothing till they realized we were stranded. so they came back and gave us money to get food. we walked into town, then came back and decided to rent something new...

a canoe! we were on the canoe for an hour... that was fun... a lot different than kayaking. so we got off the canoe at around 6. another hour with nothing to do. so we were going to ask the guy if we could rent the kayak for a half hour. now, earlier in the day, we had kinda made friends with this guy. so he told us, go ahead and just take it out... no charge". we were so stoked... so stoked, that when we got on the kayak, we went crazy and pedalled and nearly tipped the kayak. funny stuff. so we were pooped by the end of the day.

today we went to bishop. we went bowling for a bit and didnt do much more. so today was relaxing... plus i got to drive back to mammoth... i love that drive, and i love cruise control.

well, thats bout it, so i will post pics... ta ta
