whims

eccentric and often a sudden idea or turn of the mind...

i'm going to let you in on something. college is a lot of fun... true. but what makes it fun? most of the time it's the stuff we find to do when we get bored... bored with location (spontantious roadtrip anyone?), bored with homework (some of the greatest fun is had at these times), or even just bored with yourself... let me explain this last one.
most college kids manifest their boredom in ways like tattoos and piercings (the nose being the popular choice), and i am going to guess that more often than not those decisions are made on a whim... not out of well-thought, long-term-considered ideas.
i get a lot of whims (rest assured, none of the sort from above).
i like whims. and i am not patient, making whims all the more likely to be followed through on.
i had a major... let me emphasize... major, whim today, but instead of following through on it, i have actually decided, with the well thought advice of someone else, to hold off on it for a bit... this whim will happen, just not yet.

whims are funny things. you get this desire to just do something--something random, crazy... and why? well the answer to that question is simple... why not?
you are most likely never going find a reason to not to fulfill a whim... at least you won't find a reason on your own. that's where outside advice comes in... from someone who sees it from a different perspective (not having mere boredom pushing them to do something different). after hearing this different perspective, although my impatience was angry with my reasoning, it would be impossible to not wait to follow through on this whim... so wait i shall.

"this whim."
i bet most of you are very very curious as to what this is... well i am sorry, but i speak no more of it. you will hear about it when it comes.

patience :)
