dejavou

first of all, there are so many people out here that know what bellflower/ valley christian is. i wore my bellflower tshirt again (don't worry, it didn't smell or anything) and people have been like, your from bellflower??? i met an orientation leader who is room mates with a valley graduate, i met an orientation leader whose parents are from bellflower, and i met a guy in the waiting room whose family was from bellflower, and whose grandfather taught at valley. i asked his name: Mr. LaFabre (how in the world do you spell that?) but yes, fellow valley alum, that is mr. lafabre as in the LaFabre memorial... the triangle planter outside of hall A. tiny world we live in. one person even said, "ya, ,my parents said that there is someother place in the country besides here where there is a large dutch population...
that would be bellflower.

maybe some are wondering about the "waiting room" i spoke of a few sentences back... to be quite honest, i am really really embarassed, and would just rather not say... i promised myself i wasn't going to blog about it. but, what can i say, a story is a story, and whether i really care to share it or not is beyond my blogger instinct... to share a story when it happens.
but i am going to make you work for the story.
i will only give clues (and trust me, they are big clues, so it shouldn't be hard.)

lets go in order.

kayaking two nights ago
squitos
hawaii
again
dejavou
UC (not university california)
2 hours waiting
Rx
and now i am doing just fine.

i am pretty angry, and rather annoyed about it. to be quite honest, it was the last thing i needed yesterday... it was the frosting on the cake... however the cake was burnt and solid, and the frosting smelled like old people while waiting for two hours.

that same guy who had the grampa who taught at VCHS... he was with his wife. the way our conversation began, no joke, went like this:
"how long have you been waiting here?"
-"2 hours."
"wow... that bites."
-"eh, you have NO idea."
and then later on...i was talking on the phone, and mentioned that it would probably take another hour once i got, she lets me know:
"oh, no... they are pretty good at getting you out fast... it's the worst hospital in town, but it is the fastest."

wonderful.

my doctor walks in after i was waiting in my room. he begins to introduce himself as he walks into the room. "hi, i'm Andy." i look up, hearing the name andy... and no joke, he easily could have been andy roddicks little brother.... he resembled him so much. and after some conversation (dr. andy likes to talk) turns out he loves tennis too. and when he mentioned federer winning, i went, blegh. he was surprised and asked who i wanted to win. i chuckled, because i said andy roddick, and almost considered telling him the resemblance, but that would be just akward.

so orientation.
elementary school all over. do you remember playing on the playground, and trying to find other peole to play handball with you, and it was so intimidating.
same thing here, but you don't even have handball as an excuse to get to know someone.
lesson learned from yesterday... i am terrible at walking up to people and trying to "make new friends." due to my wonderful day yesterday, i was more content with sticking with the old friends... except for the fact that they are 3000 miles away.
i guess i am being a bit honest right now.

but hey, it's all a part of "the experience," right? all of it minus those flying blood sucking varmints (squitos, not vampires).

i wonder how many of you will actually read this, because i said i wouldn't post untill after i get back on the 23rd... which i actually get back on the night of the 22nd, by the way, and stay the night at calvin.

hmm, i said a lot for not really meaning to.

well, i best be off soon. i hope your mondays are finding you well!

oh, and one more thing... EMS, eastern mountain sport...
i drove up to it, and on the door was a sign that said "closing." i was like, aw, that's a bummer, but maybe they'll have good sales. i walked up to the store... empty. cleaned out... i read the smaller print:
"EMS will be closing on february 25, 2006."
oh.
:) i am truly laughing now, but i nearly punched a whole through the window yesterday.

oh the adventures!
