they're real!

woke up, watched some tennis, hung out with some old friends, hung out with a new friend... it was a good day today!
i'll give you guys the highlights (because although it's only 8pm over there, its 11pm here, and i am exhausted...)

-woke up, had breakfast, showered up, put on my bellflower tshirt, and practiced unicycling!!!

-venus won her 4th wimbledon today, and i didn't have to wake up at 6am to watch it... i am loving this whole east coast time zone thing.

-fun time hanging with my friends back at their place on the lake one last time before i go on my trip and before they head back to cali... and while i drove on the 31... i mean, highway 31... no speeding here... cruise control at 55 all the way... in your face cops :)

-made my way to a city i haven't been to before... allegan, mi..

-went to this campground place called tri pond and met up with a cousin of a friend back home... she also goes to calvin, and she works at this campground (which she gave me a tour of, and i think it is actually really cool... cool ponds, funny kids).

-i held a 6 day old goat, which is actually really cute and really soft... i'd say this baby goat (named barley) gives tippy a run for his money. and the mama goat has a huge go-tee (how do you spell that... if it were spelled goat-tee, that would be hilarious, because i really think thats where the name comes from).

-so i joined this gal (who is quite hilarious) and a couple of her friend for a little kayak trip down part of kalamazoo (fun word) river. it being 8pm and all, ton of bugs... it was a lot of fun. we kayaked and cruised down the river for a little over an hour.

-by the time we stopped kayaking and pulled our kayaks on the bank, i thought what i thought was a spark, but then it quickly disappeared. i looked down the trail, and saw multiple ones... flying up, glowing, then disappearing. no way... fire flies!!!!!!! i got so excited i was nearly jumping... i quickly asked them , you guys have fire flies!!!! they're real!!!! honestly, until tonight, i never quite believed that fireflies were true... kind of like santa clause, i accepted their existence in stories and movie for dramatic effect, but i never thought they were real. so they laughed because i was so excited, and they showed me how to catch em and watch them glow. pretty much the coolest experience ever, walking with a bunch of fireflies glowing around you

-as dorky and weird it sounds, fire flies are magical hahaha they are pretty much my favorite insect... unlike the mosquitos that ate me alive while i was so fascinated by the fireflies.

that's all folks

Hi Stina (i guess this is a nickname I did not pick up on...) Its been awhile since we've been in contact but anywho...I stumbled on your blog from G&M's page. Being a midwest girl, I have a super exciting tip about FFlies. If you rub their butts on your face it will glow in the dark for awhile. Since that's kind of gross its more fun to try to rub them on other people's face. Please try...
