well, the men's australian open final was early this morning, and federer finished with the usual results... straight sets. he is actually the first guy in a long time to go through an entire major tournament (one of the slams) without dropping a single set. this guy is not human.
anyway, here's another cool first that happened in this final...
today was the first time ever that a woman was the chair umpire for a men's final in any grand slam!!!! i don't know why it took so long to get a girl in the chair for a men's final, but hey, it's kind of cool to have witnessed the first. they made a pretty big deal about it in the ceremony and congratulated her on being the first. pretty neat.
so now the australian open is over, as are my days of watching tennis everyday... i believe the french open is next, and that is my favorite tournament to watch, so i can't wait.
